Georgia Supreme Court votes to allow bonds for
Kroger at marketPlace Terrell Mill.

On June 3, 2019, the Georgia Supreme Court voted 7-0 to allow the Cobb Development Authority to issue $35 million in bonds and accompanying tax abatements for the Kroger planned as part of MarketPlace Terrell Mill.

The bonds had been approved by the Development Authority in May of 2018, but were then challenged by Cobb resident Larry Savage.
Cobb Superior Court Senior Judge Adele Grubbs (now retired) had sided with Savage in September, denying validation for the bonds. The Supreme Court's decision overturns that ruling and paves the way for Kroger to begin construction of its new 95,000 square foot store.
