BP nearing completion. Old Shell stalled. BP rebuild at Powers Ferry Road and Terrell Mill Road is almost finished.
Work has stopped at the old Shell at 1445 Powers Ferry Road. Stay tuned.
60 Townhomes Underway At Reserve At Wildwood.
The development is located next to the iconic Towers at Wildwood, designed by renowned architect I.M. Pei. A citizens group of Wildwood residents helped convince the Cobb Board of Commissioners to reduce the number of townhomes from 67 to 60, and to require that the architectural style be compatible with the surroundings. georgia supreme court votes to allow bonds for kroger at MarketPlace Terrell Mill.On June 3, 2019, the Georgia Supreme Court voted 7-0 to allow Cobb Development Authority to issue $35 million in bonds and accompanying tax abatements for the Kroger planned as part of MarketPlace Terrell Mill.
The bonds had been approved by the Development Authority in May of 2018, but were then challenged by Cobb resident Larry Savage. Cobb Superior Court Senior Judge Adele Grubbs (now retired) had sided with Savage in September, denying validation for the bonds. The Supreme Court's decision overturns that ruling and paves the way for Kroger to begin construction of its new 95,000 square foot store. More on the PFCA MarketPlace page. BOC approves multi-use project on shadowood Parkway behind Dunkin' Donuts.The project is a six-story apartment building and a three-story office building on 3.7 acres along Shadowood Parkway. The site is behind the Dunkin Donuts, which is at 2022 Powers Ferry Road.
The 299 luxury apartments will be constructed in the “wrap” style surrounding a parking deck. The distinctive architecture of the apartment building will give the exterior a mix of styles, so it feels like a varied streetscape instead of one large structure. More on the PFCA Power Lofts page. Nearly 300 Pack PFCA Community Meeting.Thanks so much to everyone who turned out and participated in the very informative meeting on May 8th. As PFCA President Patti Rice noted, the mission of the PFCA is to provide a public forum for informed dialogue on key issues affecting the Powers Ferry Corridor. This meeting did exactly that, with almost half of the two hours devoted to Q&A.
The full agenda included presentations and discussion on cityhood, police staffing, transit, as well as updates with renderings on key redevelopment projects in the Corridor. The meeting has received coverage from both the East Cobb News and Marietta Daily Journal, as well as a TV segment on CBS46 News. Read more on the meeting page. "Restaurant Row" Redevelopment project gets a name and sets groundbreaking in july.At the May 8th PFCA community meeting, Craig Gearhart of Greystar Real Estate Partners showed the latest renderings of the project, which will be known as Elan And Overture Powers Ferry. Elan Powers Ferry will be the name of the traditional luxury apartments, and Overture Powers Ferry will be the name of the Active Adult community. The groundbreaking for the long-awaiting redevelopment of "Restaurant Row" will be in July.
